Frequently asked questions

Do all professions need qualification recognition?
No, only regulated ones. If yours isn’t, the route is shorter, and we tell you before we start, not halfway through the file.
What slows down qualification recognition the most?
Academic documents from your country of origin. Obtaining a certified, apostilled curriculum usually takes longer than the Andorran procedure itself, so it is the first thing to request.
Can I practise while it is being processed?
Not in the regulated profession. That is why it is best to start the homologation before any other step in your project.
What if my qualification is from outside the European Union?
It can still be homologated, but the legalisation chain is longer: it usually requires an apostille or consular legalisation and a sworn translation. It is best to raise this on day one, not discover it halfway through the file.
Does the homologation expire?
The recognition itself does not, but registration with the professional body and the associated professional obligations have their own deadlines. We give you a calendar of what needs renewing and when.
