Types of foreign investment

Andorra accepts foreign investment in several forms. These are the main ones.

  • Direct investment: setting up new companies, acquiring holdings in Andorran companies, establishing or expanding branches.
  • Real estate investment: acquiring ownership of, or rights in rem over, property located in Andorra.
  • Portfolio investment: debt securities, shares or preference shares, regulated investment undertakings.
  • Other forms: participation accounts, foundations, cooperatives or joint ownership arrangements.
